Biography

​

Born in 1981, I studied from 2004-2006 at West Dean College / Sussex University in Chichester / England and graduated as a furniture restorer (BADA). I completed several internships in Germany, England (Windsor Castle), Italy (Padua) and USA (New York) and worked afterwards in several restoration companies. 

 

In 2011 I founded my own company in Berlin.

Since 2013 I have been dedicating myself to painting and selling my works in my showroom as well as on online platforms.

Motivation

​

My need to communicate my daily inner dialogue and my resulting sensations are the basis of my work which serves as an outlet for my personal condition.

 

I feel the urge to express my moods in order to compensate disturbances or to come to rest. By communicating my feelings, I enter into a kind of correspondence and can share my joy and visions with others. It gives me strength and incentive when the viewer of my works recognizes this confrontation and an indirect dialogue with me or himself is created.

Inspiration

​

Thematically I am inspired in my work by everyday topics, news and everything that happens around me. On the other hand, I am affected by the examination of old surfaces and the smallest details of historical objects that are no longer completely intact.

 

I often paint with music. For that reason each of my works has its individual tempo and its own beat, creating a visual poetry.

 

It is joy and challenge for me at the same time to build tension and relaxation, to hide different stories and associations in the picture as well as to allow free interpretation possibilities.

Style Elements

​

My experiences with historically influenced furniture and objects have sensitised me to forms, colours, surfaces and structures and encouraged my love for painting. I have developed autodidactic methods, which I use and constantly expand when painting and designing my art objects. I want to make depth and complexity visible and perceptible and love to deal with finely nuanced colours and hieroglyphic-symbol-like style elements.

Technique

​

Most of my predominantly abstract works are created on canvas or wooden surfaces, which I work on with my hands, brush, chalk, pencil, spatula, squeegee and chisel. By masking and overpainting I generate depth and haptic.

Vision

​

The need for harmony, the desire to come to rest and the love for communicative aesthetics lead to my aim to create the perfect white painting.
